About Executive Skills Dubai

Executive Skills Dubai is a one-to-one executive function coaching practice that helps students aged 11–18 in Dubai's international schools build the planning, organisation, focus and self-management skills that turn ability into consistent results.

It was founded by Lewis Griffiths, an Assistant Principal with twelve years in education, seven of them inside Dubai's international school system.

What Executive Skills Dubai does

One-to-one executive function coaching

Weekly online coaching sessions that build the skills behind academic performance: planning, task initiation, time management, organisation, emotional regulation and self-monitoring. Each skill is practised on the student's real schoolwork, so it becomes a routine they own rather than advice they forget.

Executive function profile assessment

A free, structured assessment for students and parents covering 24 questions across five skill domains. It produces a clear profile of strengths and gaps, so coaching targets exactly what's getting in the way. Take the free assessment.

Parent guidance and weekly updates

Parents receive a written summary after every session: what was covered, what was practised, and what to reinforce at home. The aim is to take parents out of the role of enforcer and give them a clear, calm way to support the work.

Exam and transition support

Focused support at the points where executive function demands jump: the start of secondary school, IGCSE and GCSE courses, the IB Diploma, A Levels, and the move to university. This includes revision planning, managing coursework such as the IB Extended Essay and Internal Assessments, and staying steady under exam pressure.

What makes Executive Skills Dubai different

Built from inside Dubai's schools

Lewis is a serving senior leader in a Dubai international school. He knows how these schools set work, write reports, run learning platforms and support students, because he does it every day. Coaching is built around how your child's school actually works.

Coaching, not tutoring

Tutoring teaches subject content. Executive function coaching builds the systems that let a student use what they already know, across every subject. That is why it often works where months of tutoring haven't, and why the skills carry on into university.

A structured curriculum, not open-ended chats

Coaching follows a five-domain curriculum: organisation and time management, task initiation, emotional regulation, study skills and academic performance, and independence and self-monitoring. Every programme starts with an assessment and works towards specific, measurable goals. See the curriculum.

Wellbeing and safeguarding built in

Lewis holds Level 3 safeguarding training and Mental Health First Aid certification. Anxiety, low mood and school avoidance are recognised and handled with care, not coached around.

Honest about fit

Coaching isn't the right answer for every child. If a consultation suggests a student needs something else first, such as a subject tutor, an educational psychologist or a formal ADHD assessment, families are told so directly and pointed to the right kind of support.

The person behind Executive Skills Dubai

Lewis Griffiths, executive function coach in Dubai

Lewis Griffiths is a British educator who has worked in schools in the UK, Asia and Dubai over a twelve-year career.

He holds a PGDE in Secondary Education and a Master's degree in Education Practice, is trained to Level 3 in safeguarding, and is a certified Mental Health First Aider.

Year after year, Lewis saw the same pattern in capable students: understanding in lessons, work that never arrived, and reports that blamed effort. Schools teach content brilliantly, but they assume students already know how to plan, start and finish their work, and many don't. He founded Executive Skills Dubai to teach those skills directly, one student at a time, and to give families a clear alternative to another round of tutoring.

How Executive Skills Dubai works

  1. Free 30-minute consultation. A video or phone call about your child, what you're seeing and what you've tried. You'll leave with a clear view of what's driving the difficulties and an honest recommendation. Book a free consultation.
  2. Assessment. Student and parent complete the executive function profile, so coaching starts from evidence rather than guesswork.
  3. Goal setting. Student and coach agree specific, measurable goals together, such as submitting all homework on time for three weeks or building a revision plan before a mock.
  4. Weekly coaching. Online sessions of 50–60 minutes, with skill practice on real schoolwork.
  5. Weekly parent update. A written summary after every session.
  6. Review and step back. Progress is reviewed each term, with support gradually reduced as the student becomes independent.

Most families begin with one term (around 12 sessions). Enquiries are usually answered within one working day, by email or WhatsApp on +971 58 536 4280.

Frequently asked questions

Who founded Executive Skills Dubai?

Executive Skills Dubai was founded in 2025 by Lewis Griffiths, an Assistant Principal with twelve years in education. He holds a PGDE in Secondary Education and a Master's in Education Practice.

What is executive function coaching?

Executive function coaching teaches the skills behind schoolwork: planning, starting tasks, managing time, staying organised, regulating emotions and monitoring your own progress. It works on how a student learns, rather than what they learn.

How is it different from tutoring?

Tutoring teaches subject content, one subject at a time. Executive function coaching builds the systems a student needs in every subject, which is why it often helps when a tutor reports that a child understands the material but results haven't improved.

Does my child need an ADHD diagnosis?

No. Many students who benefit from coaching have no diagnosis. Where an assessment might help, Lewis will say so and explain the options in Dubai.

Which curricula and ages do you work with?

Students aged 11–18 following the IB, IGCSE, GCSE, A Level and American curricula in Dubai's international schools.

Are sessions online?

All sessions are online, so families anywhere in Dubai or the wider UAE can take part.

How much does coaching cost?

Coaching starts from 4,000 AED per month. The exact programme is agreed after a free consultation.

How do I get started?

Book a free 30-minute consultation. You'll talk through your child's situation and get an honest recommendation, whether or not coaching turns out to be the right fit.
