How the assessment works
The assessment is a structured check of everyday habits across five executive function areas: task initiation, organisation and time, emotional regulation, focus and attention, and self-management. The areas are informed by research on executive function.
What you answer
25 statements, five per area, about how often a behaviour happens: never, rarely, sometimes, often or always. There are no right or wrong answers.
How it's scored
Each area is scored from 0 to 100, and the overall score is the average of the five areas.
| Band | Score | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Secure | 75–100 | These habits are usually in place. |
| Developing | 50–74 | The skills are there, but not yet consistent. |
| Priority | 0–49 | This area is likely making schoolwork harder. |
What it can and can't tell you
The assessment shows a pattern of strengths and difficulties, based on one person's view. It's a useful starting point for a conversation, not a diagnosis. It can't identify ADHD, a learning difficulty or any other condition. If you have concerns about those, speak to your child's school or a licensed psychologist.
